Fused Art Glass
Phillip's fused art glass plates and other creations are as beautiful as they are functional. The botanical themes mimick the striking effects of the night flash
photography he uses as a basis for his designs.
The glass fusing process has not changed significantly over the past 4,000 years, except for the improvements in materials and equipment quality. It's this
creative process that Phillips has chosen to use in order to showcase his interpretation of the natural world we live in.

The glass fusing process has not changed significantly over the past 4,000 years, except for the improvements in materials and equipment quality. It's this
creative process that Phillips has chosen to use in order to showcase his interpretation of the natural world we live in.
Please note that these are original hand-made custom works of art and each design is created and limited to an edition of 20 with one additional Artist Proof.
Each piece of glass is meticulously cut and fitted together into a representative mosaic design similar to stained glass, but instead of using soldered lead or
brass to hold the design together, the pieces are fused together at 1500 deg. F, with up to 7 separate firings. Detail is added by the use of glass powders and
frit, then slumped into a functional piece of art, or left as a flat decorative artwork. The finished artwork is then signed and numbered on the back. The
products shown here are examples of the designs made in this style. Due to the artistic, hand-made nature of these products, variations will occur in both
design and color.
